The word Stiereo in our title is a combination of my name, "Stier" and the word "Stereo".

Stereo is the common name given to sounds or pictures that are presented from two or more sources.
With sound, you need two or more speakers. Stereo sound gives you the illusion that you are listening to the actual, original sounds because each of your ears hears the sound slightly differently. It recreates the 3 dimensional feeling of being there.
With pictures, you also need two or more views of the same scene in order to get the 3 dimensional feeling of being there
because each of your eyes sees the view from a slightly different place. |

The two moving pictures you see here are to show you the two different views of the same subject that actually exist in a stereo image. If you were to look at the two images at the same time through a viewer you would see a true 3-D image. Above right is a picture taken inside Antelope Canyon, Arizona. At left is a scene in the Morikami Japanese Gardens, Florida Photographs by Barry Stier |
